What a ceramic coating does (and does not do)
- Does: water and dirt release more easily, washing is faster, gloss holds longer, and the surface resists UV fading and chemical staining better than wax.
- Does not: stop rock chips or door dings. That is what paint protection film is for. It also does not mean you never wash the car.
Why the prep matters more than the bottle
A coating locks in whatever is under it, swirls included. Before we coat, the paint is washed, decontaminated, clayed and polished; if it needs real correction, we quote that separately. This is why coating prices vary so much between shops: the difference is usually the prep.
Price and time
$599 to $3,500, depending on the size of the vehicle, the condition of the paint and the Ceramic Pro package. We quote per vehicle after seeing it. The car stays with us up to 2 days, installed and cured indoors.

Coating in a Massachusetts winter
A coated car sheds salt brine and slush more easily, which makes the frequent winter washes quicker. The best time to coat is before the salt season starts, on clean, dry paint.
